Getting Baptized

We’re thrilled that you’re interested in learning more about baptism! We look forward to having a conversation with you and guiding you through this step of obedience.

We believe that water baptism is an outward, physical representation of an inward, spiritual transformation by the Holy Spirit. Water baptism is neither a means of salvation nor a requirement for it; rather, it is a testimony of the salvation that has already taken place.

Baptism can be understood in two significant ways:

• It is a “Pledge of Allegiance” to God. It signifies a believer’s obedience to God’s command to be baptized after salvation, publicly identifying them to the church and the world as a follower of Jesus Christ.

• Baptism is also a picture or symbol of what occurs during salvation. It helps us identify with what Jesus accomplished on the cross. Many describe it as an outward expression of an inward reality.
